The Arts Access Initiative is Houston’s action plan for ensuring equitable arts access for every Houston Independent School District student.

VISION

Our shared vision is that every student in Houston will have the opportunity to benefit cognitively, creatively, emotionally and academically through the arts.

FOUNDATIONAL GOALS

We work together towards three goals:

1. Equity: We work to understand and counter obstacles that prevent all students from having access to the arts.

2. Impact: We ensure that the arts provide a meaningful and substantial element of an excellent education for students.

3. Sustainability: We initiate a culture change to ensure ongoing breadth and depth of arts experiences and engagement for students.
